5 possible Medical Causes For Not Getting Pregnant

1. Irregular Periods
As mostly, we start with women when it comes to getting pregnant, women should monitor their cycles more carefully to note if there are high levels of irregularity. If there are irregular periods, the couple should reach out to the doctor to find out the underlying reason(s) and get treatment if required. Irregular periods are the most contributing factor when couples are unable to conceive a baby.

2. Adhesions:
Sometimes, the inability to get pregnant can also be due to adhesions in the reproductive organs of the female. Sometimes, these adhesions exist, but women might not have any symptoms at all. These can also be caused due to some injury or trauma to the cavity of uterine. Sometimes, usage of intrauterine devices to avoid pregnancy can also lead to this medical condition. The only way to fix this is to contact your doctor for treatment.
3. Blockage in Fallopian Tubes:
In many cases, the biggest reason couples are unable to get pregnant is due to some lockage in fallopian tubes. How does this affect conception? Well, the egg and sperm might not be able to unite if the fallopian tubes are blocked. Alternately, sometimes the pregnancy occurs in the fallopian tubes which gets terminated on its own or can lead to medical trouble as well. Sometimes, causing the fallopian tube to burst which is a cause of grave concern.
4. Cervical Mucus Problems:
Sometimes the mucus does not change its consistency during the time of ovulation and provides a natural barrier for the sperm from entering the female reproductive organ. Also, there are cases where the body reacts by producing antibodies that kill the sperm and lead to failure in pregnancy despite repeated efforts. For this to be deduced for sure, there are some pretty complex tests that a professional doctor will advise to undertake.
5. Endometriosis and Fibroid:
While the first is a medical condition in which a woman’s endometrial tissue implants itself outside the uterine cavity which causes pain and leads to inability to get pregnant, the second scenario is one in which there are tumors that grow in the uterine wall.

Okorocha has no power to slash working days –Imo NLC chairman

IMO State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Austin Chilakpu, has declared that Governor Rochas Okorocha does not have the power to determine working days in the state contrary to what the Nigeria constitution  has already prescribed.
Okorocha had last Friday during an interactive session with Journalists disclosed that the state executive council was considering slashing the working days from the normal five days to three to avail civil servants in the state the opportunity of engaging in other businesses to earn extra income to augment their salaries.
NLC Chairman, in his reaction, said the slashing of the constitutionally prescribed working days was beyond the powers of any state government including that of Imo State.
According to him, the International Labour Organization has prescribed 40 working
Hours from Monday to Friday which is what the Nigeria constitution has adopted, and as such could not be altered on the whims of the Imo State Governor.
The NLC boss further pointed out that public holidays recognized by the Federal Government are listed in the calendar, noting that what the Imo State government was trying to do was to subvert the laws of the  country.
“Claims by Governor Okorocha that Imo State pays the highest salaries in the entire Southeast is not correct because the workers in the state receive the same minimum wage paid by other states and it is not a gift but as a result of negotiation. There are states that pay more than Imo State. I don’t know why the governor always tries to borrow negative examples,” Chilakpu queried.

Civil servants to work three days per week –Okorocha

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State yesterday said he was contemplating the reduction of work days for civil and public servants in the state from five to three days per week. Okorocha made the disclosure while briefing journalists on the state of affairs in Imo at his Spitball residence in Owerri. He said the reduction from five to three days was to enable workers have more time to attend to other activities that would supplement their monthly earnings to better support their families.
“I encourage Imo workers to find additional things to do so as to support their families because of the economic situation we are facing in Nigeria. “We are considering plans to reduce working days from five to three in Imo so that workers will use the rest of the days to work and support their families,” he said.
Okorocha, who was not specific on when the implementation of the reduction in working days would commence said the state government was equally planning to further make a downward review of salaries paid to the state workers.
He said in spite of the current payment of 70 per cent of salaries to workers, the state still pays the highest salary scale in the South- East. “Directors in these other South-Eastern states receive something a little above N90, 000 while in Imo they receive more than N100, 000.
We intend to clear salary arrears up to July by next week. After that we will consider downward review of salary to workers so as to be at par with other states in the South-East,” he said. Okorocha also spoke on his urban renewal programme, noting that relocation of Ekeukwu Owerri market and the Orji and Nekede mechanic villages to Avu was irreversible.
“From Monday, August 1, a taskforce to enforce the relocation order for the mechanics will commence work, and I am advising vehicle owners to ensure that they do not take their vehicles to any of these places from Monday,” he said.

We’ve uncovered 12, 915 ghost workers – Sokoto commissioner

No fewer than 12, 915 ghost workers have been uncovered in the staff payroll of 23 local government councils of Sokoto state during the last junior staff verification exercise, the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Alhaji Mohammed Maniru Dan Iya, has disclosed.
Iya made the disclosure while briefing newsmen on the achievements recorded by his ministry in the last one year, saying that the ministry “will soon embark on senior staff cadre verification exercise.”
According to him, apart from the N 319 million realized during the previous exercise, which was announced by Governor Aminu Tambuwal during this year’s Democracy Day celebrations, there was still N100 million unclaimed scattered in various bank accounts.
However, the commissioner said the administration of Governor Tambuwal had since abolished joint account in Sokoto state.
According to him, “all the money meant for local governments will go to them; there is no joint account in Sokoto state.”
He said as part of effort to sanitize the system, and boost internally generated revenue of the local councils, the services of some consultants had been engaged and it was yielding results.
He also said all the ongoing projects inherited from the former administration would be completed this year.

Eguavoen slams FG over Keshi -

Ex-Nigeria skipper Austin Eguavoen has wondered if the country is worth dying for after top Federal Government officials stayed away from the final burial rites of former Nigeria skipper and coach Stephen Keshi, African Football.com reports.
Keshi made history when he became only the second man to win the AFCON both as player and coach three years ago.
He died in Benin City on June 8.
“I am not shocked by the way the government has treated this event,” said a disappointed Eguavoen.
For instance, most of us have yet to get the houses the government promised us when we won the Nations Cup in 1994.
“You are only energized when you have been looked after.
“One keeps wondering if Nigeria is worth fighting for or even dying for?”
Keshi’s son Femi was even more damning about the failed promise of a state burial for his father.
“The Federal Government did not deliver on the promises they made to us as regards our father’s burial,” said Keshi junior.
A committee set up by the government for a befitting burial for Keshi had budgeted N30m.

SOB Jokes of the day -

Akpos just got a job as a porter in a five star hotel in Abuja.
The manager told him “In here we give every customer personalized services and you have to be very observant so you know how to address their every need even before they ask.”
Before the manager could finish, a couple walked through the hotel entrance and the manager quickly
approached them, nicely took their baggage and said,
“Welcome Mr & Mrs James, it is our delight to have you in our hotel. Please come this way to the reception” and he led them to the reception.
After the couple had been taken care of, Akpos asked the manager, “Has the couple been visiting this hotel before?”
“No” came the reply from the manager.
“So how come you knew their name?” asked Akpos.
“That is why I told you to be very observant. All I had to do was quickly look at the label on their baggage
while I’m taking it from them and see the name on the tag.”
“Oh, here comes another couple. Why don’t you give it a try?”
“Ok” said Akpos and he hurriedly approached the couple, helped them with their luggage and said,
“Welcome Mr & Mrs SUPERIOR HAND MADE LEATHER! We are delighted to have you in our hotel…”
The manager fainted!

I won't accept divorce unless you return me back to the way you met me, wife tells husband in court

There was mild drama at the Agboyi/Ketu customary court when a 35- year old woman, Basirat Alatise blatantly refused that the court should dissolve their marriage, saying that the only condition for accepting divorce is if the husband could restore her to the state he met her so that she could be attractive to a man if she is willing to get married again.
Her 48-year-old husband, Morufu Alatise had earlier petitioned the court to dissolve the three-year-old marriage on the grounds that there is no more love as well as destruction of his property, constant embarrassment in public and show of wickedness.
Mr Morufu said that he met his wife, Basirat at a carnival and he liked her and decided to marry her; he met the mum who gave her approval and they got married. According to him, he told the wife that he has a woman who has given birth for him earlier and asked if she was okay with it and the wife accepted. However, it happened that the lady who gave birth for him started coming to visit and whenever the wife sees the woman, she gets violent and embarrasses him in public to the point of arresting him and putting him in the cell.
He then urged the court to dissolve the marriage and ask the wife what he did that would warrant her arresting him all the time.
The court then asked the wife to explain why she kept arresting the husband, and she narrated that, “When I met my husband, he never told me he was married. My relatives though were asking me how a man in his forties would not be married; that it is better we investigate and know why he is not yet married all these years. It was then that we discovered that he already has a wife and when I confronted him, he said that the wife he married died. After a while we discovered it was a lie, that the wife is alive and I became friends with her.
“After a while, we then discovered that he now has another girlfriend he was secretly seeing and the lady comes to his office which is in our house to come visit him. It was very embarrassing for me and I confronted him and he told the lady to beat me up. We fought and the lady tore my clothes and I immediately went to report at the police station and he was arrested and put in cell because he refused to produce the lady who fought me but I eventually bailed him.
“When it was time for me to give birth, I went to the hospital and we did scan and found out that I will have twins and after he heard that, he disappeared. I called him, looked for him everywhere but couldn’t find him and my mother and my relatives decided to support me. I gave birth to the twins; one of the babies was sickly and the baby died because we didn’t have money to buy the drugs as at the time the baby needed to take the drugs. He still didn’t show up or show any remorse that we lost a child. On the day of the naming ceremony, he came and stood like a stranger. He didn’t pay the hospital bill; he didn’t give any money for the naming ceremony.
“I still forgave him but he still brings the new girlfriend to his office which my father gave him. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I usually harass him so that he would know that I am not happy with his attitude and he still continued and had the audacity to say he wants divorce. I will never accept any divorce except he has the power to take me back to the position he met me before I got pregnant; return all the money I have spent, otherwise, this our marriage is until death do us part.”
In all the narration, the husband did not counter anything the wife said, but was quiet with his head bowed.

The police within the week arraigned a 21-year-old teacher, Matthew Sodake, at an Ota Magistrates’ Court for allegedly having oral sex with a 14-year old student.
The prosecutor, Chudu Gbesi, told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 12 at about 8.00 pm at Ambassador Star Comprehensive Secondary School,  Otta in Ogun.

Ex Gov Orji Kalu Foundation donates funds to school for disable -

Dissatisfied by the educational status of many disabled persons in Nigeria, Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation has donated cash and educational materials for the building of school for the disabled in Nigeria. This is even as the Foundation charges the Federal Government to practice all-inclusive education to give the disabled a sense of belonging.
Chairman of the Foundation, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, made this known recently, during a launching event tagged ‘Fun Night Under Classical Music’ organised by The Royal School of Educational Therapy Foundation in Abuja. Represented by the Vice Chairman of Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation, Chief Sam Nkire, Kalu lamen  ed that Nigerians should be worried over the plight of over seven million disabled Nigerians who are not enrolled in schools. He noted that it is disturbing to read that 95 per cent of the disabled population are from under privileged homes.
According to him, “People with disabilities face societal prejudice and intolerance in the community, institutions and even amongst their family circle.
He said it is only inclusive and purpose-driven education, which to him means education for a purpose, is the way to go in developing the socioemotional health, academic success and functional skills of people with disabilities. Kalu urged the Federal  Government to do whatever it can to promote quality and inclusive education for the children, especially those who have challenges.
Kalu commended the organisers and Founder of The Royal School of Educational Therapy Foundation, Dr. Princess Badewa T. Adejugbe-Williams. He complimented their efforts and said the idea of sourcing funds to build school for the disabled is an impressive initiative

Pay my five-month salaries, Siasia begs NFF

Samson Siasia, U-23 coach, has appealed to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to pay his salaries and offset the backlog of bonuses and allowances owed him and his players, with just over a week to the start of the Rio Games in Brazil.
The former Nigeria international has not been paid for months, which he has now confirmed.
He said: “I am appealing to the NFF and the Sports Ministry to pay our salaries,” Siasia said in a radio interview.
Siasia also posited that if his salaries were not paid before the Games, they will end up not being paid at all.
“After the Olympics, that money will just go on voice mail,” Siasia said, meaning he will not be paid afterwards.
The situation is similar to other coaches of various national teams, as Emmanuel Amuneke, the national U-20 coach’s salaries are held.
Immediate past Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh is also claiming that he was being owed by the NFF, even though the Glass House has hotly disputed the claim.

I know Nigerians are suffering –Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that he was very much home with the suffering of ordinary Nigerians. The president assured that government was taking deliberate steps to improve the lives of citizens. Buhari stated this yesterday when he received the Council of Abuja Imams at the presidential villa, Abuja.
According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the president told the Imams that his government is acutely aware of challenges of life facing the average citizen.
He appealed to Muslim religious leaders to carry the message of hope to the people that things will improve. Buhari also requested religious leaders throughout the country to keep calming the people. “The leadership, at various levels, is trying to solve problems of poverty, unemployment and insecurity bedevilling the country,” the president said. He said the government chose to give priority to agriculture so as to create jobs for unemployed citizens and give the country food security.
Buhari noted that although efforts had begun, there was a bigger plan for the provision of fertilizers, insecticides and land preparations starting next year. He further requested state governments and community leaders across the country to organise the population into cooperative societies, stressing that “extension services, not money will be provided.”
The president also addressed the religious leaders on the efforts to improve power supply in the country with on-going efforts to bring foreign investment from China and some friendly countries that indicated willingness in developing the proposed Mambila and other hydroelectric power projects in the country.
He assured that the steps the government was carefully taking on the crisis situation in the Niger Delta would lead to long-term peace and stabilise the oil-rich region. On the war against corruption and the Boko Haram terrorism, the president said his government would remain resolute and relentless. “We have no plan to humiliate or embarrass anyone through these actions. We are merely interested in instituting justice and fairness for all,” the president assured.
He reiterated that whoever was caught, as having stolen from the public, will be forced to return the loot to the treasury. “The nation needs the money,” he stated. Earlier, the Chairman of Abuja Council of Imams, Dr. Tajudeen Mohammed Bello Adigun, on behalf of the delegation, commended the efforts of the Buhari administration in the war against corruption and terrorism.

10 possible Reasons Why People Feel Lost In Life

1. They have lost the connection with their own heart and Soul.
One of the many reasons why people feel lost in life is because they have disconnected from their own hearts and Souls. They pay too much attention to their rational minds, and to what everyone else has to say, and now they can no longer hear the voices of their hearts, nor can they connect to the wisdom of their Souls.
2. They live their lives based on what other people believe to be right.
Another reason why people feel lost in life is because they live their lives based on what other people believe to be right for them, based on what other people think to be true. They craft their lives based on the thoughts, beliefs and ideas that were handed down to them from a very young age by their parents, family members, teachers, friends, society, and every single person with whom they interacted. And because they never took the time to question the authenticity of those beliefs, and whether they had anything to do with who they themselves are, they continued to build, craft and shape their lives based on what other people believe to be right.
3. They value the opinions of others more than their own.
Even though they have a very wise and trusted counselor within themselves – their heart and Soul, they don’t seem to trust themselves. They constantly seek advice from others, and the opinions of those around them always seem to be more valuable and more important than their own.
4. They are ruled by fear.
Their hearts are closed and fear seems to govern every area of their lives. Fear seems to be present in their minds, in their hearts, in their homes, in the work they do, in the decisions they make, in the relationships they have and in everything they do. They live in a permanent state of fear, and since love is no longer welcomed, they feel lost, disoriented, disconnected and very unhappy.
5. They have a distorted sense of self.
People who feel lost in life tend to have a distorted sense of self. They no longer see their beauty, their light and their perfection, and they can no longer accept this truth – that who they are is enough! Their vision of reality seems to be darkened and distorted. And all they seem to “see” is how little, unworthy and insignificant they are, and how nothing they do is good enough.
6. They surround themselves with people who drag them down.
Spending too much time with the wrong crowd is another reason why so many people feel lost in life. When you surround yourself with people who drag you down, people who are constantly whining, blaming, criticizing, gossiping and complaining about everything and everyone, poisoning your mind, your heart and your life with their fears, doubts and negativity, you will eventually get derailed from your life path, and that will cause you to feel lost.
7. They believe every toxic thought that runs through their minds.
To put it more accurately, it is not so much that you use your mind wrongly—you usually don’t use it at all. It uses you. All the things that truly matter — beauty, love, creativity, joy, inner peace — arise from beyond the mind…” When you believe every toxic thought that runs through your mind, and when you insist on building your sense of self and your entire life based on those thoughts, you can’t help but feel lost.
8. They believe logic is more important than imagination.
People who suffer from a lack of imagination feel compelled to rationalize everything that happens to them. Constantly seeking to give logical explanations, to themselves and to others, for why they can’t move on with their lives, for why they aren’t as happy as they would like to be, and for why their present and future lives will be nothing but a replica of their past. And that’s just another reason why people feel lost in life.
9. They are stuck in the past.
They are very attached to their past and everything that happened in it. And they just can’t seem to find a way to free themselves from it, not do they want to.
10. They try to control everything.
They can’t seem to understand that life has a natural flow that is always working with them, and so, they choose to push against it by trying to control everything and everyone. As a result, they get imbalanced, they disconnect from their own heart and soul, and they start to feel more and more lost with every day that passes.

I remain Abia gov, Ikpeazu tells Appeal Court -

A strong argument ensued yesterday at the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, between Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and Dr. Samson Uchechukwu Ogah, on who between the duo is the substantive Governor of Abia State.
While Ikpeazu is laying claim to the office, Ogah is objecting to the claim on ground that the Federal High Court had sacked him. Both parties are members of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
The court however ordered that parties should remain as they were before coming to court. Ikpeazu had through his counsel, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) approached the Court of Appeal to challenge the the judgement of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja which sacked him from office. Aside the main appeal, he had also filed another application seeking to set aside the enrollment order signed by Justice Okon Abang on the said judgement.
However, Dr. Samson Ogah, in his response to the appeal, had through his counsel, Dr. Alex Izinyon (SAN) filed a motion seeking to stop Ikpeazu from further parading himself as the governor of the state on ground that the Federal High Court has sacked him. The full panel of the Appeal Court led by Justice Morenike Ogunwumiju, however, ordered parties to withdraw their various applications and attend to the main appeal.
These applications are those seeking to set aside the enrolment order which sacked Ikpeazu and the one seeking to stop Ikpeazu from parading himself as the governor of the state. Both Olanipekun and Izinyon however agreed that their respective applications will abide by the judgement in the main appeal. However in order to set the record straight and avoid confusion, the court asked Izinyon, who the de-facto occupier of the office of the governor is?
Izinyon, in his response, disclosed that he could not say that Ikpeazu is the governor because he is still having a motion pending and that making a categorical statement will mean that the court is staying the execution of the lower court judgement. Olanipekun, while responding, submitted that it is a known fact that Ikpeazu is presently occupying the seat of the Governor and that such is not in dispute.
Izinyon, however, interjected that it cannot be concluded that Ikpeazu is the Governor. The court also asked the two counsel to give an undertaken that no action will be taking by both parties pending the determination of the appeal. Izinyon however stood his ground that he was not ready to give an undertaking, based on the antecedent of the appellant who had gone to Abia State to get an order stopping the swearing-in of Ogah. He also prayed the court to leave the matter as it is, as both counsel had agreed that their motions will abide by the outcome of the appeal.
In a short ruling, Justice Ogunwumiju, while declaring that the court is not giving an order for stay of execution, ordered that parties should remain as they were before coming to court pending when the various complaints brought by the parties will be resolved. She said the decision of the court was for parties to “remain as they were” and should not be misconstrued as meaning that the appellate court had issued a stay of execution order.
The court later adjourned till August 9 for the hearing of all the appeals. Earlier on, the court had fixed August 4 for hearing of an application brought by the standard bearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr. Alex Oti, seeking to be joined as a party in the appeal. Oti, through his counsel, Patrick Ikwueto (SAN) had brought an application seeking the leave of the court to be joined as a party in the appeal. The court, however, directed all parties in the suit to file written addresses.
Three days was given to the applicant to file his written address, the respondents were also given three days to reply while the applicant had two days to file a reply if any. Other appeals filed by PDP, INEC and one, Sir Friday Nwosu, were all subsequently adjourned till August 9 for hearing. The court while promising to hear and dispense off the appeal within the shortest possible time said the provisions of law will strictly be adhered to.
It will be recalled that Justice Okon Abang of the Abuja Federal High Court had sacked Ikpeazu from office on the ground that he did not fulfill the provision of the law as to the submission of his tax clearance form before contesting in the PDP primaries.
The judge consequently ordered INEC to present certificate of return to Ogah, who had the second highest votes in the primary election. Ikpeazu later approached the court of appeal seeking to stop the enforcement of the judgment while INEC had in obedience to court’s judgement issued certificate of return to Ogah. Against this backdrop, Ikpeazu approached an High Court in Abia where he got an order stopping the swearing in of Ogah as the Governor of the state.

Firm threatens to discontinue power supply in Imo State -

If the threat stands, the entire Imo State will be cut off from public electricity Electricity.
Yesterday, the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), promised to discontinue power supply following what it described as “rampant relocation without proper consultation and approval” of her facilities by contractors in the state in the guise of ongoing road expansion.
The company which raised the alarm over the destruction of her facilities by road contractors said it had not only been robbed of revenue but that such activities have exposed members of the public to electrocution.
In a statement by its head of Communications, Emeka Ezeh, the company added: “It is important to bring to the fore, the very high risk to safety of lives and property posed by this rampant activity of these contractors. As a result of this act of compromise, members of the public are exposed to electrocution due to exposed damaged electric lines and equipment; and this could result in avoidable liability for our organization and we are not disposed to any of such liability.”
Explaining that it had made conscious efforts to forestall the risky act without the desired cooperation of the contractors and the state agencies, the statement added: “It is to this end that the management of EEDC has resolved, in the interest of safety of lives, to isolate the feeders and substations within these construction areas. Where this continues, in the interest of public safety, we shall have no option but to discontinue power supply to the entire Imo State.
“We have experienced situations where transformers, electric poles and other equipment belonging to EEDC are being relocated without consultation and approval by the contractors. This has resulted in destruction of our equipment, thereby exposing us to significant revenue loss as our customers are subjected to non-supply of electricity.”
