Few Foods To Eat Every Day For A Perfect Skin

1. Red bell peppers
Red bell peppers are a tasty vegetable that can be enjoyed either cooked or raw. One red bell pepper contains more than 100% of your daily vitamin C needs. It also contains significant amounts of dietary fiber and vitamin B6. Moreover, it is rich in carotenoids that can help prevent wrinkles and increase blood circulation to your skin, helping it look more youthful. Due to their carotenoids, red bell peppers are also great to fight acne.
A red bell pepper is a perfect, low calorie snack that contains about 30 calories and has a really satisfying crunchy bite. Keep slices of red bell peppers in the fridge, so you will always have something healthy and tasty to reach for when you are having a snack attack. The fiber that a bell pepper contains will help you to feel full longer with very little calories. Plus, you will have a flawless skin!
2. Coconut oil
Coconut oil is one of the richest sources of saturated fat with about 90 percent of calories as saturated fat. It contains lauric acid, a powerful antibacterial and antiviral agent that keeps away viruses, infections, inflammation and acne. Coconut oil is also rich in essential fatty acids and Vitamin E, which are perfect for keeping your skin moist, soft, and wrinkle-free.I use coconut oil as a body cream and consume 1 tbsp. of raw coconut oil every day. Coconut oil is especially good for your thyroid. Plus, there’s considerable evidence that this oil can help lose weight. So many health benefits, don’t you think
3. Salmon
Salmon is an excellent food to fight stress, anxiety, and depression. Salmon also provides most of your daily vitamin D needs. And as you may already know, Vitamin D is responsible for keeping your heart, bones, colon and brain healthy. It also helps prevent colon cancer, anxiety, depression, heart disease and bone disease.
Salmon is also rich in omega-3 fatty acids that are excellent for fighting inflammation, wrinkles and acne. Its high omega-3 content also helps hydrate your skin from the inside out. Moreover, eating salmon keeps your scalp hydrated and promotes strong, healthy hair.

4. Dark Chocolate
This is one of my favorite foods to eat every day for perfect skin! Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants, fatty acids and flavanols that promote glowing skin. The antioxidants in dark chocolate will help reduce roughness in your skin and protect it against sun damage. Moreover, cocoa relaxes arteries, increasing blood circulation that leads to healthier skin.
I usually buy cocoa powder or raw cacao for less fat. And if you like dark chocolate, eat your ounce of dark chocolate every day and make sure you choose at least 80% cacao content in order to avoid milk and added sugars found in a traditional chocolate bar.
5. Green Tea
Well, so I know green tea is actually a beverage, but tea leaves come from a plant! Even though I love black tea, I drink green tea every day because I know that it is a great source of antioxidants and a unique amino acid, L-theanine that helps relax your body and lower stress.
When the tea is hot, the bionic brew releases catechins, a kind of antioxidant with proven anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties. Green tea may also reduce your risk of developing high blood pressure. Drink 3 or more cups of tea every day for better results.
6. Spinach
Spinach is a healthy and nutrient-rich food you should certainly include in your everyday diet. You may hate spinach, but it is a wonderful source of iron, folate, chlorophyll, Vitamin E, magnesium, Vitamin A, fiber, plant protein, and Vitamin C. Due to their antioxidant abilities, Vitamins C, E, and A are especially great for your skin.
Spinach contains antioxidants that fight against all types of skin problems. Add it to your everyday diet and see what happens. By eating spinach, you’re just cleaning your skin from the inside out!
7. Papaya
Papaya is a wonderful fruit which has a rich history and numerous nutritional benefits. It is very low in calories (only 39 calories per 100 g!) and also contains no cholesterol. So if you are trying to lose weight, consider eating papaya every day to maximize its health benefits.
A great beauty food, papaya is low in fructose and is excellent for digestion! The antioxidant nutrients found in it, including Vitamins C and E and beta-carotene, are great at reducing inflammation and acne. Moreover, Vitamin C may also protect your skin against sun damage.
8. Carrots
Carrots are good not only for your eyes, but also for your skin. They are especially good for clearing up breakouts. Carrots are rich in vitamin A and they help prevent the overproduction of cells in the outer layer of the skin. That’s where excess sebum combines with dead cells and clogs pores.
Another great reason to snack on some carrots is because Vitamin A reduces the development of skin-cancer cells. So make sure you nibble on a half-cup of baby carrots every day for perfect skin. I love carrots and I think they make a great snack.
You don’t have to eat all these foods every day, but even some of them would be great! Be sure to avoid junk foods, too much sugar, trans fats and refined carbs for the best skin possible. Which of these foods do you eat every day? Share your thoughts, please, and thanks for reading!

Hearty Smoothie

Consistency is an issue many battle with in making a hearty Smoothie. You might not enjoy the taste of your smoothies until you’ve learnt ways to make it creamier and flavorful. Not so thick that you need to eat it with a spoon but not very watery all the same. I always tell myself that i want more out of my smoothie experience than feeling like I’m just drinking a sweetened juice. If I wanted a mere juice, I know where to get one depending on the fruit juice type I want. This makes me to explore varieties in search for what works and all.
How can you achieve consistency in your smoothie experience? There a few food items I love using most, usually i use banana, if I want a bit of naturally sweetened flavour while achieving thickness all the same. I also use yogurt, or avocado. For instance, avocado has a very mild flavour and adds texture to your smoothie and you can barely taste it. It just holds the flavours together with so much consistency. You should use that often, plus it makes for a balanced diet for the mornings you can’t handle breakfast, just get it blended and done a night before the morning you are to head out! The same applies to yogurt if you want to define the taste a bit.Again, sometimes adding just a little bit of sweetness can bring the flavours of your smoothie together. You can use honey, figs, maple syrup, dates, vanilla paste, molasses and fruit jams as items to sweeten your smoothies with.
To make the Hearty Smoothie, you will need the following ingredients:
  • 1 banana (peeled)
  • I avocado (peeled and seed removed)
  • 1 apple (cored and sliced)
  • 3 dates (pitted)
  • 1 TBSP nut/seed butter (peanut, almond or sunflower)
  • 2 TBSP ground flaxseed meal
  • 1/2 cup dry oats
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 cup water
Direction
Blend it all up, add some ice if you want. Enjoy this thick and hearty smoothie. It should fill you up for a while!
To blend well-start with liquids, then greens, then frozen fruit-after that, add whatever’s making your smoothie creamy — like banana, avocado or yogurt. And by the way, oats are better when soaked in water overnight, it also helps to create a nice thick consistency. Adding it raw wouldn’t always come as smooth and as tasty as I would love it to be, but that is dependent on choice.

My Differences with Amaechi Shouldn’t Destroy Rivers State

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has said that even though he had political differences with his predecessor and Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, such disagreement should not lead to the destruction of the state.
Wike, who was responding to a question yesterday during his engagement with editors at the 12 All Nigeria Editor`s Conference holding in Port Harcourt, insisted he had no personal disagreement with his former boss.
He however said that he and the Minister of Transportation differed politically because they belonged to different parties.
“There is nothing personal. We differ politically because we belong to different political parties. We want peace in the state and it is my desire to ensure that the state is peaceful. My disagreement with Amaechi should not destroy Rivers State”, he said.
He said it was his desire to ensure that the state remained peaceful that led to his attendance at the peace talk brokered by the Inspector General of Police
Wike also said that former President Goodluck Jonathan did something special to ensure peace in the country by conceding defeat during the 2015 general election.
“Jonathan should be commended for this single act. People should emulate this move to ensure peace in the country,” the governor said.
According to Wike, Amaechi was his boss as governor and they had good times serving the state.
“We should make sacrifices for peace. The state must move on. We only differ politically and that should not be to the level that will destroy the state,” he said.
Wike also stressed the need for peace and unity in the country saying that Nigerians should not compromise that stand.

I won’t resign, padding not a crime –Dogara

Despite the allegations of having a hand in padding the 2016 budget, the Speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has said padding is not an offence hence, he won’t resign.‎
Former Chairman House Committee Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin had alleged that the Speaker and three other principal officers of the House was in the know of the 2016 budget being padded.
He had alleged that chairmen of 10 committees injected, 2,000 fictitious projects worth N248 billion into the budget. Jibin himself was accused of allocating 20 projects worth N4.3 billion to his constituency.
Projects worth N40 billion were also alleged to have been allocated to the Committee on Appropriation under Jibrin’s watch
Dogora who met with President Muhammadu Buhari shortly after the Ju’mat prayers at the President Villa for about 30 minutes when cornered by State House correspondents to comment on the padding scandal, kept using questions with another question.
The Speaker, who arrived the Villa at 2.30pm, described his meeting with President Buhari ‎as private.
Dogara who said as a trained lawyer and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, he has never heard of the word padding, urged journalists to educate him or asked Jibrin who is behind the allegation.
When asked if he would yield to pressure and reconvene the House before September said, the rules will be followed.
The following conversation transpired between Dogora and the newsmen:
Newsmen: What informed your visit on a Friday
Dogara: Can’t I come and see my President? Do I need any reason to come and see my President? It’s a private visit.
Newsmen:  Was the issue of alleged budget padding discussed?
Dogara: What is budget padding?
Newsmen: The language emanated from your chambers?
Dogara: I don’t know, educate me,  I am a lawyer and the Speaker and I have never heard of the word padding, what does padding mean?
Newsmen: Your former chairman on Appropriations is saying you padded the budget?
Dogara:  Ask him, he who alleges must prove, that’s the law in Nigeria.
Newsmen: Are you not going to defend yourself?
Dogara: Am I before a court?
Newsmen: There are people saying you should reconvene the House before September resumption time and step aside for thorough investigations?
Dogara: We have rules and regulations, this is not a mock institution, we operate by rules and we will follow the rules.
Newsmen: Will you resign?
Dogara: Resign for what, for what?
Newsmen: On this allegation?
Dogara: What is the allegation?
Newsmen: That you and some members of the leadership padded the budget?
Dogara: What is padding, you haven’t told me, ask Jibrin what is padding? For me I studied law and I have been in the legislature and all this period I have never heard of the word padding being an offence under any law, if I don’t know, you are the media, research the law and let me know
Newsmen: Are you worried?
Dogara: Worried for what? Worried over nothing, why should I be worried, as far as I am concerned, am not worried over anything.
Newsmen: Will there be sanctions for Jibrin?
Dogara: I am not the chairman of Ethics Committee of the House so I wouldn’t know and I don’t know what padding means.

We’ll kill Christians, says Boko Haram leader

The new Boko Haram leader, Abu Masab Al-Barnawi, says Christians in Nigeria will be the new target of the sect’s attacks, vowing that the sect will kill all Christians and “blow up every church that we are able to reach.”
Al-Barnawi was the spokesman for the fundamentalist sect until August 3 when he was declared its new leader to replace Abubakar Shekau.
In an interview he granted Al-Naba Newspaper, which was translated by SITE Intelligence Group, Al-Barnawi was reported as describing Boko Haram’s activities in Nigeria as a war fought by Muslims against “apostates” and “crusaders.”
He said the group was aggrieved that the West had been trying to Christianise Africa, saying the West was spreading Christianity to the African region and charities were assisting them in doing that.
He also claimed that victims of insurgency were being kept in the Internally Displaced Persons’ camp, fed and sheltered for the purpose of turning their children to Christians.
He, however, said the group would retaliate.
He said, “They (West) strongly seek to Christianise the society…They exploit the condition of those who are displaced under the raging war, providing them with food and shelter and then Christianising their children.”
Al-Barnawi vowed that Boko Haram fighters would retaliate by “booby-trapping and blowing up every church that we are able to reach and kill all those (Christians) who we find from the citizens of the cross.”
The new Boko Haram leader said the sect “remained a force to be reckoned with,” boasting that it had enlisted new recruits.

I have stolen only four cars this year – Cleric

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 42-year-old Islamic cleric, Rasheed Ayuba, for alleged car theft. Ayuba, who hails from Igbesa, Ogun State, was apprehended along with a transporter in Ibadan, Oyo State, Falade Igbekele, who reportedly bought six of the stolen cars.
It was gathered that the suspect, who also teaches at an Arabic school in Ishasi, Lagos, was caught sometime in June after he entered into a hotel in the Ikotun area to steal a Toyota Camry parked on the premises.
He was driving out the car when he was caught by vigilantes in the neighbourhood, who handed him over to officials of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
Ayuba reportedly told the police that he bought the master keys for N9,000 from one John, a Beninoise.
He said, “I finished from an Arabic school in Ikotun and started teaching Arabic in Ishasi. At about 11pm on June 8, I went to a hotel around Ile-Iwe bus stop to steal a Toyota Camry. But I was arrested by the security guards in the area.
“I got the master keys I used from John, who is from Benin Republic. We met in 2013 in Lagos and he sold the master keys to me. Since then, I had been using them to steal cars. I usually sold the cars to my customers in Ibadan. One of them is Falade (Igbekele) to whom I sold six cars, and Friday, who bought a Toyota Camry.
“It was only four cars I had stolen this year before I was arrested. I sold a Toyota Camry to one pastor Dare for N100,000, and a Honda for N80,000 to another pastor. But pastor Dare had just paid me N50,000. They all knew I stole the cars.”
Fifty-two-year-old Igbekele confessed to have bought six cars from Ayuba, saying a friend introduced him to Ayuba.
The indigene of Ondo State added that he used some of the vehicles for commercial purpose.
“I knew Alfa Ayuba through a friend called Lucky Star. Lucky told me Alfa sells vehicles and I said I had interest in buying them. He had sold six vehicles to me so far, including a Nissan Sunny and a Nissan Primero. I bought them for N150,000 each.
“I bought all the cars from Alfa three years ago. He told me he stole them and I asked if I would not get into trouble; he said yes,” Igbekele said.
While the police said they were on the trail of the other accomplices, Ayuba and Igbekele were brought before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday on six counts bordering on stealing and receiving stolen property.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Donjor Perezi, told the court that the offences were punishable under sections 98, 285 (10), 326 (a) (b) and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges before the presiding magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Olayinka, and were admitted to bail in the sum of N500,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.
The case was adjourned till November 8, 2016.

Woman sells unborn baby for N100,000 in Anambra -

The Anambra State Police Command on Thursday paraded a 29-year-old woman, Chidinma Okorie, and two medical doctors for alleged child trafficking.
The doctors, who were said to be Okorie’s accomplices, were identified as Emmanuel Tobechukwu and Cosmos Ugorji.
Okorie said she had sold two children since she was introduced into the illegal trade by a woman whom she claimed was an evangelist.he said “I sold the two children at N50,000 each. I, myself, am pregnant now and the evangelist said when I’m delivered of my baby, she would buy it for N100,000.
“I have five children; but I’m not married. I have not sold any of my children; but I have sold two children, starting with the child of a pastor that I first stole. I’m pregnant and I have agreed to sell my baby to the evangelist for N100,000 when I give birth.”
She said the medical doctors were helping her in the trafficking because they had a ready market through a nurse that was still at large.
She said “Madam brought three of us (girls) from Ebonyi to Anambra State and took us to a shrine in Asaba where she collected our blood for voodoo so that we will not reveal to anybody the type of business we do.”
She insisted that the two medical doctors aided her in the trafficking of the two children.
Ugorji, however, said he had not seen Okorie before and he had not done any transaction with her.
Ugorji, who said his hospital was located at Awada, Obosi, near Onitsha, explained that the nurse, whom Okorie named as his accomplice in child trafficking, was only coming to his hospital’s laboratory to conduct blood sample tests.
“I don’t know this girl (Okorie) because I have not seen her before. I was surprised to see the police storm my hospital yesterday (Wednesday) talking about child trafficking. Today, they  brought us here,” he added.
On his part, Tobechukwu, who said his hospital was at Nkpor, near Onitsha, said a woman brought Okorie to his hospital for blood test.
He said, “This woman (Okorie) has a medical condition, which I won’t want to discuss here. She was brought by one woman, who said she was a nurse. I didn’t document their addresses because we did not do any treatment. What we did was blood test and they left.
“ I’m from Enugu and I’m working in somebody’s hospital at Nkpor. I have nothing to do with child trafficking.”
Parading the suspects at the Anambra Police Command headquarters at Amawbia, the Police Public Relations officer, Nkeiru Nwode, said the suspects were arrested on Wednesday after a tip off.
She said Okorie had come to Idoma village in Umuoji,Idemili-North Local Government Area of the state and stolen a four-year-old boy, but luck ran out on her when people raised the alarm and she was apprehended.
The PPRO said before the incident, Okorie had stolen a child belonging to a pastor in the state.
Nwode alleged that the doctors were accomplices who linked the traffickers to ready markets.
She said two of the accomplices, a nurse and a female evangelist, whose names were not given as of press time, were still at large.

Jonathan failed to save for rainy day, says Buhari -

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday expressed displeasure that former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration failed to save for the rainy day.
The President, who was represented by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, spoke yesterday at the Hotel Presidential in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State apital, at the opening of the 12th All Nigeria Editors’ Conference (ANEC) 2016.
The conference, with the theme: Economic Diversification: Agriculture as Option for a Prosperous Nigeria, was attended by eminent personalities from across the country and beyond.
President Buhari said: “Nigeria has nothing to rely on to cushion the effects of the lost earnings. Many other oil producing countries and fellow Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) members are faring better, because they saved for the rainy day. Saudi Arabia, with about one fifth of Nigeria’s population, has in foreign reserves about $600 billion, which is 23 times what Nigeria has in foreign reserves.
“United Arab Emirates, with less than 10 million people, has $75 billion in foreign reserves. Qatar, with 2.4 million people, has $36 billion in foreign reserves. Even Angola, with just 24 million people, has about $25 billion dollars in foreign reserves.
“Here in Nigeria, with oil selling consistently for over $100 a barrel for many years, we simply failed to save for the rainy day, with the result that a country with a population of over 170 million today has just $26 billion in foreign reserves.
“To compound this, the fall in the price of crude oil is having a ripple effect: the scarcity of forex, which has resulted from the oil price crash, means that industries are struggling to get forex to import raw materials and machinery.
“With falling imports, the Customs Service, which is another source of revenue, is collecting less duties. Taxation is also affected, as industries with no Forex to import can neither employ more people nor produce more goods. Then, Nigeria has had to fight an existential battle to root out Boko Haram in the Northeast.”
The President noted that the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) and the media should become the champions of change.
He said: “What I am saying in essence is that while the media owe it as a duty to keep Nigerians well informed about the situation in the country, it must do so in context. We are not saying we should continue to lament about missed opportunities, the massive corruption or profligacy of the past, but it is important for Nigerians to know where and when the rain started beating them, that no provision was made for any umbrella to shield them from the elements and that indeed genuine efforts are now being made to turn things around.”

Few Ways to get rid of Bad Breath -

1. Brush and floss more often.

Plaque, the sticky buildup on your teeth, collects bacteria that cause bad breath. Trapped food also adds to the problem.
Brush your teeth at least two times each day, and floss at least once. If you're concerned about your breath, do both a little more often.
Don't overdo things, though. If you brush too hard you can wear down your teeth, making them vulnerable to decay.

2. Rinse your mouth out.

Besides freshening your breath, a mouthwash adds extra protection by getting rid of bacteria. A fresh minty taste can make you feel good. But be sure the mouthwash you choose kills the germs that cause bad breath. Don't just cover up the smell. Rinse daily with a good mouthwash and stop bad breath at its source.
you can also help your breath if you swish your mouth with plain water after you eat. It can get rid of food particles that get stuck in your teeth.

3. Scrape your tongue.

The coating that normally forms on your tongue can be a host for smelly bacteria. To get rid of them, gently brush your tongue with your toothbrush.
If your brush is too big to comfortably reach the back of your tongue, try a scraper. "They're designed specifically to apply even pressure across the surface of the tongue area. This removes bacteria, food debris, and dead cells that brushing alone can't take care of," says hygienist Pamela L. Quinones, past president of the American Dental Hygienists' Association.

4. Avoid foods that sour your breath.

Onions and garlic are big offenders. But brushing after you eat them doesn't help.
The substances that cause their bad smells make their way into your bloodstream and travel to your lungs, where you breathe them out.
The best way to stop the problem? Don't eat them, or at least avoid them before you go to work or see friends.

7 {possible} Signs It’s Time To Walk Away

1. You dwell on the past more than the present
Think about your current relationship. Do you dwell and reminisce on current and future happiness or past euphoric memories more? Fueling your relationship with past happiness will inevitably run your relationship out of future happiness. If you cannot see a possible future or have a lack of desire to invest in creating future happiness, move on.
2. You have to defend your feelings
Ever feel like you have to justify your feelings, not only to other people, but to yourself as well? This is not a good sign. Relationships built and centered on loving one another do not need justification. You know how you feel. Do not talk yourself into or out of loving someone. Embrace your emotions and act upon them appropriately.
3. You are still waiting for him to change
People who promise they will change for you, but never do, are people you should be leery of committing long-term to. Do not believe that because they are in a relationship with you, they will change to become the person you have built up in your mind. They cannot read your mind and they cannot be your perfect person. Allow them to grow and change for themselves.
4. You have to explain yourself … all the time
If your partner requires you to explain every single thing you do, beware. Strong relationships require an unspoken and unwavering expectation of honesty and trust. Keep this in mind as you establish boundaries in your relationship. Do not feel like your actions and thoughts have to be explained and justified.
5. There is abuse
No form of abuse (physical, mental, emotional) is tolerable in a relationship. If you are experiencing any form of abuse, seek help and support from loved ones and experts.
6. Addressed issues remain unchanged
When you have addressed issues that consistently reoccur, that is a clear sign that repairing your relationships is not a priority. If no changes occur, it may be time to cut chords and walk away. Avoid experiencing the same situation, same fight, same hurtful emotions and same outcome by trying to taking matters into your own hands.
7. Fundamental values are disrespected
Disrespect and resentment for your values or core religious beliefs is a sign your relationship is not healthy. A strong relationship builds each other up and accentuates both parties for their individual thoughts, beliefs and goals. If your values are disrespected or ignored, walk away.

3 Common Fruits You Should Avoid While Breastfeeding

As a breastfeeding mom, you should avoid these 3 fruits, for the sake of your baby.
1. Citrus Fruits
Juicy, tangy and incredibly tasty is how you would describe most citrus fruits. Citrus fruits are some of the most popular fruits, and they form a major part of your fruit basket. However, as a lactating mom, you need to avoid citrus fruits and their juices at all costs. Citrus fruits include fruits like lime, kiwi fruits, strawberries, pineapples, oranges, and grapes. Many-a-time, citrus fruits lend a pungent flavor to your chest milk. Some babies might object to the taste of it, and get fussy while consuming it. Other babies may vomit. Sometimes, your baby may also develop diaper rashes as a result of the citrus content in chest milk. Citrus fruits contain many acidic compounds and can lead to irritation of the gastrointestinal tract (GI) in children.
2. Cherries And Prunes:
Apart from citrus fruits, make sure you don’t consume any cherries, prunes or berries. Cherries may sometimes create gas problems for your little one. Moreover, it is quite common for newborn babies to suffer from gas due to their newly developing digestive system.
3. Caffeine And Chocolate:
Apart from the varieties of foods we mention above, make sure that you avoid caffeine, chocolates, eggs, soy and fish. These foods can lead to gastrointestinal problems and may also trigger allergies in your little angel.

All Truths About Actor, Ani Iyoho Who Got Burnt On Set

The actor, who was said to have been badly burnt when the fire stunt got out of control, was contracted to do the fire stunt which went well without a fire outbreak as earlier reported. Addressing the media on the sad misunderstanding the video which has gone viral on the internet may have caused, the movie director, Stanley Ohikhuare set the record straight. “Ani Iyoho was contacted to act in the movie and do the stunts.

He signed a release form after confirming that every safety measure was in place. Measures include the provision of five working fire extinguishers, a water source which in this case was a stream nearby from where we pumped water, a fire blanket and absolute professional preparation for the stunt, using the recommended media.
We set him on fire following strict professional guidelines” he stated. He went further to say “But contrary to several speculations that the he got burnt and that the stunt was a failure, we indeed succeeded at pulling it off and Ani Iyoho is here with us today, from very healthy. He was willingly in on this from the beginning. What we did was to activate that which is professionally referred to as Media Influence.”
However, the actor recently stated that the scene wasn’t a publicity stunt but a movie scene that went very well. He posted a statement on his Instagram saying:
To my friends
For most of you who have ever commented or sent a chat to me you know I do all I can to respond to them all. So it hurt me deeply to keep you in silence and in the dark during this period. I couldn’t avoid it. The calls were maddening. My phone had to be turned off till the matter was resolved in public where it started.
It worried the production that anything I might say as an individual may be misinterpreted further worsening the situation. I’m truly sorry beyond words for the emotional stress and inconvenience this might have caused you. It wasn’t a publicity stunt for me as some might still want to have you believe. It was a huge misunderstanding, misrepresentation and misinterpretation of events of that day and it took a toll on me in ways I cannot explain
I am however extremely humbled at the love, care and support I got from you during this period. Words fail me. I am indebted to you. Thanks for being there for me and my family. God bless you and yours. Amen
I am well. It was a movie fire scene that went well.’ Ani Iyoho.

Ikpeazu’s refusal to handover power causing tensions in Abia - Abia elders

Some political leaders from Abia State have decried the growing tension in the state following a recent judgment of the Federal High Court, Abuka, which invalidated the election of Okezie Ikpeazu.
The leaders said the refusal of the governor to democratically hand over power to Dr. Uche Ogah who had already been issued a certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), might snowball into political crises in the state.
Arising from an emergency meeting in Abuja, the Abia leaders who converged under the aegis of Ndigbo Bu-Otu Union, said in a communique that Nigerians had expected the governor to take the “path of honour, apologise for his misdeeds and immediately quit office for Dr. Ogah as ordered by the High Court.”
President of the union, Mazi Igwekala Leo Ugomaduefule who spoke on behalf of the other leaders, said: “Since the High Court has given its decision, without prejudice to his right to appeal, Governor Ikpeazu should hand over to Dr. Ogah, whom the court ordered INEC to issue a certificate of return to having emerged  second during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary.
“We are deeply concerned that Dr. Ikpeazu’s neglect or refusal to obey the High Court order is gradually building up tension across the state, and this is giving all members of the union a cause for concern.
“The Chief Judge of the Federation should equally cooperate with the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF)  to ensure that Abia Chief Judge performs his constitutional responsibility unhindered by swearing in Dr. Ogah immediately. We are equally calling on the Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS) and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)  to immediately withdraw all security details attached to Ikpeazu, since in the eye of the law, he is no longer the legitimate governor of Abia state.
“We are therefore passionately appealing to Dr. Ikpeazu to give peace a chance by handing over to Dr. Ogah as directed by the court in the interest of the entire people of Abia state.”
Meanwhile, in response to the  call by the Governor Ikpeazu to  Abians to come home and invest, and industrialist, Chief Chris Odinaka Igwe  said he has imported about 1.5 million high breed cashew seedlings to feed an indigenous  Cashew Processing Factory in Umuogele, Amuda Isuochi, Umunneochi LGA.
Igwe, who is the  Managing Director of Chrisnak Group of Companies said he decided to invest in Abia  to create employment and boost the economy in line with the dreams of the  governor. He lauded the governor for providing a conducive environment for business to thrive. in the state adding that the  cashew plantation is located  in his home town, Umuogele Amuda Isuochi, in Umunneochi LGA.
The industrialist, who spoke through his farm Manager, Mr Chukwu A. Chidiebere   at the cite of the cashew plantation at Umuogele  Amuda, the manager, disclosed   that the company has imported its 1.5millon seedlings from Brazil and it’s called High Breed Cashew.
He said  that the High Breed Cashew is different from other existing cashew seedlings in the area, and that it grows and produces fruits within 18 Months .
According to him the fruits will soon be processing  in the Cashew Processing Factory and its by-product exported  (Chemicals), and others sold to Nigerians.
The Manager said further that  Igwe will soon unveil other investment plans he has for  Abia State and called on other well-meaning  Abians to come home and invest so as to help the Governor Ikpeazu to move the state  forward.

I'll bring the US dollar to N200 in one month if... - Ifeanyi Ubah

The Chairman of Capital Oil and Gas Services Ltd. and the Publisher of The AUTHORITY newspapers, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, has advised the Federal Government to consult some Nigerians who can halt the free fall of the Naira which is affecting the nation’s economy.
He said that if the Federal Government consults him, he could restore the nation’s currency to an exchange rate of N200 to one US Dollar within one month – thereby arresting the slide in the Naira which is virtually crippling the economy. The Naira currently exchanges at N385 to the US dollar.
Chief Ubah, who was speaking on a Channels Television politics programme, did not say how he was going to bring the Naira down to an exchange rate of 200 per dollar – but said the government could seize everything he owns if he failed to do this within one month, if given the mandate.
Chief Ubah also affirmed that he was not involved in any way whatsoever in the $2.3 billion Dasukigate arms deal that involved the former National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki. He said he was not involved in the politics of contracts and has never done any government contracts, whether at the Federal, state or local government levels.
“I am highly misunderstood, sometimes controversial. But I have never done any government contracts. I did not collect any money from Government; I do not have an oil block – and I have not asked for one.”
He said following the controversies trailing the ‘Dasukigate’, it has become necessary for him to extricate himself from allegations that himself and the non-governmental organisation, Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN), were in anyway involved in the sharing of the arms deal money.
The arms deal is the albatross of the former National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki and many others close to the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
He said the TAN, was not a political organisation, even though it campaigned for the re-election of the former President, a development which he said was based on its belief in promoting a better Nigeria and sustaining her unity.
“I did not know Dasuki. TAN never received money from Dasuki or the People’s Democratic Party. We did what we did in the interest of the nation and for posterity.”
“I’m a politician with a mind-set of making life worth living for the people, when issues seem to be getting out of hand. So TAN has no hand in whatever that has to do with the arms deal fund”.
Expressing disgust with what is being unravelled in the ‘Dasukigate’, Ubah said that it was a disgrace in which everyone involved must be adequately investigated and punished, to serve as deterrent to others. He urged former President Jonathan to speak up on the arms deal scandal in order to shed more light on what really happened over the arms deal.
He advised that owing to the gravity of the allegations and revelations emerging from the probe of Dasukigate, it is high time Jonathan breaks his silence and set the records straight.

He said Eno called Blessing to take Favour with her, adding that when she refused, he inflicted machete injuries on the girl’s back and head.
The girl died from the injuries.
He said, “On July 23, at 7.30pm, the complainant, Blessing, had a misunderstanding with her husband, Eno Akpan. In the process, the husband beat her up.

According to him, he used his fists on her, but by the time he picked up a machete to strike her, it cut through their daughter.
He said, “She went to sell oysters in the market. When she came back, I tried to inquire why she came back late and that it was becoming a habit for her to return home late from the market.
“Her reply incensed me and I had no other option than to beat her. The moment I picked up a machete to strike her, she threw my daughter at me and the machete landed on her head and back.

5 possible Medical Causes For Not Getting Pregnant

1. Irregular Periods
As mostly, we start with women when it comes to getting pregnant, women should monitor their cycles more carefully to note if there are high levels of irregularity. If there are irregular periods, the couple should reach out to the doctor to find out the underlying reason(s) and get treatment if required. Irregular periods are the most contributing factor when couples are unable to conceive a baby.

2. Adhesions:
Sometimes, the inability to get pregnant can also be due to adhesions in the reproductive organs of the female. Sometimes, these adhesions exist, but women might not have any symptoms at all. These can also be caused due to some injury or trauma to the cavity of uterine. Sometimes, usage of intrauterine devices to avoid pregnancy can also lead to this medical condition. The only way to fix this is to contact your doctor for treatment.
3. Blockage in Fallopian Tubes:
In many cases, the biggest reason couples are unable to get pregnant is due to some lockage in fallopian tubes. How does this affect conception? Well, the egg and sperm might not be able to unite if the fallopian tubes are blocked. Alternately, sometimes the pregnancy occurs in the fallopian tubes which gets terminated on its own or can lead to medical trouble as well. Sometimes, causing the fallopian tube to burst which is a cause of grave concern.
4. Cervical Mucus Problems:
Sometimes the mucus does not change its consistency during the time of ovulation and provides a natural barrier for the sperm from entering the female reproductive organ. Also, there are cases where the body reacts by producing antibodies that kill the sperm and lead to failure in pregnancy despite repeated efforts. For this to be deduced for sure, there are some pretty complex tests that a professional doctor will advise to undertake.
5. Endometriosis and Fibroid:
While the first is a medical condition in which a woman’s endometrial tissue implants itself outside the uterine cavity which causes pain and leads to inability to get pregnant, the second scenario is one in which there are tumors that grow in the uterine wall.

Okorocha has no power to slash working days –Imo NLC chairman

IMO State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Austin Chilakpu, has declared that Governor Rochas Okorocha does not have the power to determine working days in the state contrary to what the Nigeria constitution  has already prescribed.
Okorocha had last Friday during an interactive session with Journalists disclosed that the state executive council was considering slashing the working days from the normal five days to three to avail civil servants in the state the opportunity of engaging in other businesses to earn extra income to augment their salaries.
NLC Chairman, in his reaction, said the slashing of the constitutionally prescribed working days was beyond the powers of any state government including that of Imo State.
According to him, the International Labour Organization has prescribed 40 working
Hours from Monday to Friday which is what the Nigeria constitution has adopted, and as such could not be altered on the whims of the Imo State Governor.
The NLC boss further pointed out that public holidays recognized by the Federal Government are listed in the calendar, noting that what the Imo State government was trying to do was to subvert the laws of the  country.
“Claims by Governor Okorocha that Imo State pays the highest salaries in the entire Southeast is not correct because the workers in the state receive the same minimum wage paid by other states and it is not a gift but as a result of negotiation. There are states that pay more than Imo State. I don’t know why the governor always tries to borrow negative examples,” Chilakpu queried.

Civil servants to work three days per week –Okorocha

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State yesterday said he was contemplating the reduction of work days for civil and public servants in the state from five to three days per week. Okorocha made the disclosure while briefing journalists on the state of affairs in Imo at his Spitball residence in Owerri. He said the reduction from five to three days was to enable workers have more time to attend to other activities that would supplement their monthly earnings to better support their families.
“I encourage Imo workers to find additional things to do so as to support their families because of the economic situation we are facing in Nigeria. “We are considering plans to reduce working days from five to three in Imo so that workers will use the rest of the days to work and support their families,” he said.
Okorocha, who was not specific on when the implementation of the reduction in working days would commence said the state government was equally planning to further make a downward review of salaries paid to the state workers.
He said in spite of the current payment of 70 per cent of salaries to workers, the state still pays the highest salary scale in the South- East. “Directors in these other South-Eastern states receive something a little above N90, 000 while in Imo they receive more than N100, 000.
We intend to clear salary arrears up to July by next week. After that we will consider downward review of salary to workers so as to be at par with other states in the South-East,” he said. Okorocha also spoke on his urban renewal programme, noting that relocation of Ekeukwu Owerri market and the Orji and Nekede mechanic villages to Avu was irreversible.
“From Monday, August 1, a taskforce to enforce the relocation order for the mechanics will commence work, and I am advising vehicle owners to ensure that they do not take their vehicles to any of these places from Monday,” he said.

We’ve uncovered 12, 915 ghost workers – Sokoto commissioner

No fewer than 12, 915 ghost workers have been uncovered in the staff payroll of 23 local government councils of Sokoto state during the last junior staff verification exercise, the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Alhaji Mohammed Maniru Dan Iya, has disclosed.
Iya made the disclosure while briefing newsmen on the achievements recorded by his ministry in the last one year, saying that the ministry “will soon embark on senior staff cadre verification exercise.”
According to him, apart from the N 319 million realized during the previous exercise, which was announced by Governor Aminu Tambuwal during this year’s Democracy Day celebrations, there was still N100 million unclaimed scattered in various bank accounts.
However, the commissioner said the administration of Governor Tambuwal had since abolished joint account in Sokoto state.
According to him, “all the money meant for local governments will go to them; there is no joint account in Sokoto state.”
He said as part of effort to sanitize the system, and boost internally generated revenue of the local councils, the services of some consultants had been engaged and it was yielding results.
He also said all the ongoing projects inherited from the former administration would be completed this year.

Eguavoen slams FG over Keshi -

Ex-Nigeria skipper Austin Eguavoen has wondered if the country is worth dying for after top Federal Government officials stayed away from the final burial rites of former Nigeria skipper and coach Stephen Keshi, African Football.com reports.
Keshi made history when he became only the second man to win the AFCON both as player and coach three years ago.
He died in Benin City on June 8.
“I am not shocked by the way the government has treated this event,” said a disappointed Eguavoen.
For instance, most of us have yet to get the houses the government promised us when we won the Nations Cup in 1994.
“You are only energized when you have been looked after.
“One keeps wondering if Nigeria is worth fighting for or even dying for?”
Keshi’s son Femi was even more damning about the failed promise of a state burial for his father.
“The Federal Government did not deliver on the promises they made to us as regards our father’s burial,” said Keshi junior.
A committee set up by the government for a befitting burial for Keshi had budgeted N30m.

SOB Jokes of the day -

Akpos just got a job as a porter in a five star hotel in Abuja.
The manager told him “In here we give every customer personalized services and you have to be very observant so you know how to address their every need even before they ask.”
Before the manager could finish, a couple walked through the hotel entrance and the manager quickly
approached them, nicely took their baggage and said,
“Welcome Mr & Mrs James, it is our delight to have you in our hotel. Please come this way to the reception” and he led them to the reception.
After the couple had been taken care of, Akpos asked the manager, “Has the couple been visiting this hotel before?”
“No” came the reply from the manager.
“So how come you knew their name?” asked Akpos.
“That is why I told you to be very observant. All I had to do was quickly look at the label on their baggage
while I’m taking it from them and see the name on the tag.”
“Oh, here comes another couple. Why don’t you give it a try?”
“Ok” said Akpos and he hurriedly approached the couple, helped them with their luggage and said,
“Welcome Mr & Mrs SUPERIOR HAND MADE LEATHER! We are delighted to have you in our hotel…”
The manager fainted!

I won't accept divorce unless you return me back to the way you met me, wife tells husband in court

There was mild drama at the Agboyi/Ketu customary court when a 35- year old woman, Basirat Alatise blatantly refused that the court should dissolve their marriage, saying that the only condition for accepting divorce is if the husband could restore her to the state he met her so that she could be attractive to a man if she is willing to get married again.
Her 48-year-old husband, Morufu Alatise had earlier petitioned the court to dissolve the three-year-old marriage on the grounds that there is no more love as well as destruction of his property, constant embarrassment in public and show of wickedness.
Mr Morufu said that he met his wife, Basirat at a carnival and he liked her and decided to marry her; he met the mum who gave her approval and they got married. According to him, he told the wife that he has a woman who has given birth for him earlier and asked if she was okay with it and the wife accepted. However, it happened that the lady who gave birth for him started coming to visit and whenever the wife sees the woman, she gets violent and embarrasses him in public to the point of arresting him and putting him in the cell.
He then urged the court to dissolve the marriage and ask the wife what he did that would warrant her arresting him all the time.
The court then asked the wife to explain why she kept arresting the husband, and she narrated that, “When I met my husband, he never told me he was married. My relatives though were asking me how a man in his forties would not be married; that it is better we investigate and know why he is not yet married all these years. It was then that we discovered that he already has a wife and when I confronted him, he said that the wife he married died. After a while we discovered it was a lie, that the wife is alive and I became friends with her.
“After a while, we then discovered that he now has another girlfriend he was secretly seeing and the lady comes to his office which is in our house to come visit him. It was very embarrassing for me and I confronted him and he told the lady to beat me up. We fought and the lady tore my clothes and I immediately went to report at the police station and he was arrested and put in cell because he refused to produce the lady who fought me but I eventually bailed him.
“When it was time for me to give birth, I went to the hospital and we did scan and found out that I will have twins and after he heard that, he disappeared. I called him, looked for him everywhere but couldn’t find him and my mother and my relatives decided to support me. I gave birth to the twins; one of the babies was sickly and the baby died because we didn’t have money to buy the drugs as at the time the baby needed to take the drugs. He still didn’t show up or show any remorse that we lost a child. On the day of the naming ceremony, he came and stood like a stranger. He didn’t pay the hospital bill; he didn’t give any money for the naming ceremony.
“I still forgave him but he still brings the new girlfriend to his office which my father gave him. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I usually harass him so that he would know that I am not happy with his attitude and he still continued and had the audacity to say he wants divorce. I will never accept any divorce except he has the power to take me back to the position he met me before I got pregnant; return all the money I have spent, otherwise, this our marriage is until death do us part.”
In all the narration, the husband did not counter anything the wife said, but was quiet with his head bowed.

Ex Gov Orji Kalu Foundation donates funds to school for disable -

Dissatisfied by the educational status of many disabled persons in Nigeria, Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation has donated cash and educational materials for the building of school for the disabled in Nigeria. This is even as the Foundation charges the Federal Government to practice all-inclusive education to give the disabled a sense of belonging.
Chairman of the Foundation, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, made this known recently, during a launching event tagged ‘Fun Night Under Classical Music’ organised by The Royal School of Educational Therapy Foundation in Abuja. Represented by the Vice Chairman of Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation, Chief Sam Nkire, Kalu lamen  ed that Nigerians should be worried over the plight of over seven million disabled Nigerians who are not enrolled in schools. He noted that it is disturbing to read that 95 per cent of the disabled population are from under privileged homes.
According to him, “People with disabilities face societal prejudice and intolerance in the community, institutions and even amongst their family circle.
He said it is only inclusive and purpose-driven education, which to him means education for a purpose, is the way to go in developing the socioemotional health, academic success and functional skills of people with disabilities. Kalu urged the Federal  Government to do whatever it can to promote quality and inclusive education for the children, especially those who have challenges.
Kalu commended the organisers and Founder of The Royal School of Educational Therapy Foundation, Dr. Princess Badewa T. Adejugbe-Williams. He complimented their efforts and said the idea of sourcing funds to build school for the disabled is an impressive initiative
