Man 63 sent to prison custody for infecting 13years old step daughter with HIV....



A 63-year-old, Alabi Ibrahim, has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly infecting his stepdaughter with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
The ‎ man, who had earlier been arraigned for allegedly defiling his stepdaughter, was on Friday,re-arraigned over allegation of infecting the girl with the virus.
The Director of Public Prosecution, Mrs. O. Osunfisan, who stood for ‎the 13-year-old victim in a case instituted by Child Protection Network, a non-governmental organisation, said a medical examination report showed that the girl had been infected with HIV.
Upon cross examination, Ibrahim admitted being HIV positive‎, but insisted that he did not have sex with the victim and could not explain how the girl got infected with the virus.
The accused person informed the court that the girl was once sexually abused ‎by a relative of his wife. He also told the court that the girl was wayward.
He said that her alleged waywardness made him to send the girl packing from his house.
Osunfisan, while presenting the medical reports which was conducted in November 2012, insisted that the accused infected the teenager after defiling her.
‎The trial judge, Justice A. Akinremi, in his ruling, adjourned further hearing for conclusion of defence and address till July 7.
